About Jack

Jack is the middle of our 3 sons. Up until May 3rd of this year (2009) we believed him to be a normal healthy boy. A visit to Casualty following a bang to the head brought all of that to an abrupt end – as we were taken from Oxford to Great Ormond Street in London in an ambulance with the  blue lights flashing; having been told that our beautiful son was in End Stage Renal Failure and would require dialysis and ultimately a kidney transplant.

Not how we expected our day to end when we woke up that morning contemplating how to spend our Bank Holiday weekend…..

Jack spent a month at Great Ormond Street where he was established on dialysis and we took the first tentative steps toward transplantation. This blog picks up the tale as we were given a date for the transplant following many months of assessments and tests.
